It’s hard to put into words just how THANKFUL I am today, and everyday.
On September 8 @ 9:28 am...I gave birth to our miracle baby! After 3+ years of medicine, failed procedures, and Dr. visits...the Lord blessed us with the miracle of conceiving...after we had stopped trying and learned it was his timing and NOT ours!
I delivered Ryleigh at 28 weeks and 1 day! Not only was I cheated the last trimester of my pregnancy but also the first 2.5 months of her life. Due to Ryleigh being a preemie, we knew she would spend time in the NICU...until around my due date. Although the PA from the NICU came to talk to us and try to prepare us for Ryleigh’s NICU stay...it’s impossible to prepare how mentally and physically exhausting your child’s NICU stay is! For 78 days, I visited the NICU every single day to see our Preemie Princess...but I still missed so the first 2.5 months of her life because I wasn’t there every minute of every day!
We are blessed and excited to have Ryleigh home for her first Thanksgiving! She is a true miracle and blessing to our family! We are thankful for God’s promises!
FAITH & PRAYER: I am thankful to have been raised in a Christian home and learning about Jesus! Blessed to have received Jesus Christ as my savior! Thankful for prayer as I know there is power in prayer! We felt the prayers lifted for our little girl! No doubt they were heard and the Lord helped Ryleigh fight for her life!
FAMILY & FRIENDS: I am not only thankful for family but BLESSED! Landon and I have two of the greatest Mommas around! They have been our rocks since Ryleigh’s birth! We are blessed to have family that genuinely loves and cares about us, but also Ryleigh! We are amazing friends that have gone above and beyond during our NICU journey! In times like this, unfortunately you learn the true colors of people...family and friends! Many people that we thought cared, never reached out! You find out who you friends are AND that some family members will let you down.
LANDON & RYLEIGH: I don’t deserve the amazing man that I am blessed to call my husband! He has always been so good to me, but he has gone above and beyond to take care of me and Ryleigh. When I was admitted to the hospital on August 30 due to being ruptured and dilated 3 cm, I saw Landon as a Daddy for the first time! He was worried about me of course, but also his baby girl! I thank God for creating an amazing man to be my partner in this crazy life! I wouldn’t want to do life with anyone else! Ryleigh has been the greatest blessing this year! She has taught me to be a better person! She brings out the best in me! She has taught me to be strong...after seeing what a tiny 2 lb. 6 oz. baby went through. She has taught me a whole new level of love! Being a momma is hard, but I am so thankful to have given birth to my hero, Ryleigh Elizabeth! I love Landon and Ryleigh with all of my heart! They are two of my greatest blessings!
ANNABELLE: Our first baby girl, our fur-baby! Landon and I got Annabelle after being married for 4 months. As everyone knows...first few years of marriage isn’t always easy...thankful we had AB to love us during our moments of weakness! During our 5 years of marriage...we’ve loss TOO many loved ones (Granny, Daddy, PaPa, Aunt Tincie, both of Papa’s brothers) and I couldn’t have made it through with Annabelle! She has been my “shoulder” to cry on and I can tell her anything and I know she won’t judge me, but love me unconditionally! She will always be our first baby!
TRADITIONS: I am thankful for traditions new and old! This morning Ryleigh and I got up to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade...a tradition my family has done since I was a child! Landon and I are having our immediate families over for lunch today...an old (lunch with family) and new tradition (@ our home). GiGi bought Ryleigh the Thankful Turkey, each family member will write something they are thankful for on a feather. This is a tradition we will continue with Ryleigh every year!
OUR HOME: Thankful to have a home for Landon and I to raise Ryleigh in! We are grateful that we were able to purchase our home 2 years ago! It’s a much sweet place with the coo’s and cries of our baby!
MIRACLES: Thankful, blessed, and grateful for all miracles in life, especially Ryleigh! Being in the NICU for 78 days, we were able to see many miracles! *Please keep the parents who loss babies in prayers and those that are unable to have their babies home for Thanksgiving!
HEALTH: I’m thankful that our little preemie princess beat the odds against her! For the most part, she is a healthy baby girl! The doctors feel as though the PDA (heart murmur/hole) has close! Thankful that we were sent home on a monitor to help give us a peace of mind! Thankful that our family is healthy for the most part! Momma/GiGi does have to deal with her diseases daily (Scleroderma & Raynaud’s) but God is faithful in his promise! We’ve received mostly good reports from her Dr. visits! She will beat this! We pray daily and I know the Lord will keep her strong and healthy to help take care of Ryleigh!
PICTURES & MY BLOG: Thankful for pictures that capture all of our special moments and a blog to write special thoughts! I pray we never forget where Ryleigh once started at 2 lbs. 6 oz. and now is 6 lbs. 6 oz. Thankful she will have pictures galore and her blog to use in the future to share her amazing testimony!
❤️🎀👶🏼💕🏡 Happy Thanksgiving!! 🍁🦃🍽
