Yesterday (11/21/19), Ryleigh was placed in her car seat for the 2nd time to retry the "car seat test". In order to "PASS" the car seat test, she had to be able to sit in her car seat for 90 minutes (1.5 hours) without her heart rate dropping past 90.
One Wednesday night (11/20/19, Nurse Candace placed Ryleigh in her car seat for the very FIRST time! She was not a fan of it at first! I have never seen her cry so hard or so loud since birth. Ryleigh made it to 30 minutes in the car seat before her heart rate dropped to 89. Since she didn't "pass", we were able to take her out of her car seat and love on her!
On Thursday (11/21/19), Nurse Beth tried the car seat "test" for the 2nd time. Not only did Ryleigh "PASS" this time, but she sat in her car seat for 2 whole hours without any issues!
On Monday (11/18/19), Ryleigh had her first hearing test. Unfortunately, she didn't "pass" the hearing test. :( Dr. Harlan assured us not to worry as she is still a preemie and even full term babies don't always pass on the first time. For the test, they place little ear muffs attached to cords and 3 probs on her head. Those are connected to a computer. The computer sends light clicking and tapping sounds to the ear muffs. The computer shows the RN waves to show whether the baby passes or not.
Today (11/22/19), Ryleigh had her 2nd hearing test and she PASSED!! Whoohoo!! They printed her off a certificate to show she completed and passed her hearing test! What a blessing! God is so good! GiGi (Momma) and Daddy (Landon) told me they knew she could hear anyways because they are sure she knows my voice! :)
