I feel like a Momma! Yahhhh!

Y'all!! My Momma hear could explode. I fed my baby girl for the first time today! I feel like a Momma!!! :)

Landon and I were talking to my MiL the other day as she was asking how it feels having to leave Ryleigh behind. We both responded that sometimes we don't "feel" like parents because we don't get to have Ryleigh with us at home, BUT we definitely know we are parents and LOVE her times infinity and beyond!!! Being able to fed Ryleigh a bottle today, I felt like a Momma. :) It was such a great time bonding with my baby girl as she looked up at me.

Yesterday (Tuesday 10/22/10), Ryleigh had her very FIRST bottle. Daddy got off of work early to be with Mommy so that we could both experience her first bottle feeding together. Nurse Melanie was very patient with Ryleigh as it was her first time and she was not use to having to "work for her groceries" as nurse Melanie would say. Of course she did not finish the bottle (33mL), but she did take 13 mL, which was a great start for her first bottle.

Today (Wednesday 10/23/19), I was able to feed Ryleigh with a bottle at her 11:00 am feeding. Occupational Therapist, Chue, was so kind and understanding as I explained I was nervous due to the fact that Ryleigh is still learning the process of sucking, swallowing, and breathing all at the SAME time! Chue showed me the best way to hold her and tips for helping Ryleigh be successful with the bottle. Ryleigh was wide awake while I fed her and just gazed up at me. I felt a wonderful bond between us. She worked on drinking from her bottle for about 25 minutes and drank 16 mL (3 mL more than yesterday), before she got too tired to suck/drink anymore milk. I was so proud of her as Chue and Nurse Marsha were as well. I spent the next few hours just enjoying one on one time with my baby girl. So excited that Daddy will be at the hospital for her feeding tomorrow night to either watch me feed Ryleigh OR possibly fed her himself!
